The Haryana unit of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) staged a protest against the arrest of their party leader, Arvind Kejriwal. The protest took place near the residence of Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini in Kurukshetra. However, the demonstration turned chaotic as the state police intervened.
Police response sparks controversy
Despite lacking official permission for the protest, AAP workers gathered near the chief minister's residence. When they attempted to breach the barricades, the police resorted to mild force, including the use of water cannons. Several AAP members were injured, including state president Sushil Gupta and vice-president Anurag Dhanda.

Congress leader Ashok Arora, who visited the injured at LNJP Hospital, claimed that around 40 protesters were injured, with one individual referred to a hospital in Chandigarh due to severe injuries.
Opposition criticizes arrest
Chaudhary Aftab Ahmed, MLA from Nuh segment and deputy leader of the Haryana Congress Legislature Party, condemned the arrest of Arvind Kejriwal. Ahmed labeled the arrest as "illegal and undemocratic," accusing the BJP-led Central government of engaging in political vendetta ahead of the Lok Sabha elections.
Ahmed emphasized the importance of fair elections, asserting that all parties should have a level playing field and equal opportunities. He criticized the government for targeting opposition leaders without proving their guilt and deemed the actions against Kejriwal as unjust.
